Notifications

The always-on in-app inbox, per-project routing, and your personal email preferences.

The Notifications tab — also the bell in the top bar — is "Every alert that fired — channel deliveries plus the always-on in-app inbox."

What it's for

One record of everything your rules and the firewall raised, whether or not you set up a single channel. The inbox cannot be turned off and no throttle ever suppresses it.

The inbox

ColumnShows
SeverityA coloured dot — info, warning or critical.
TitleWhat happened.
EventWhich event type it was.
EntityThe user, plan, tag value or run involved.
CountHow many times this alert has recurred.
Last seenWhen it last fired, plus a read/unread dot.

Filter by All or Unread, and by This project or All projects; Mark all read applies to whatever you're viewing. The bell's unread badge is project-scoped.

Open a row for the full alert: severity, event type, occurrences, source rule, entity, user, model, first and last seen — plus a Deliveries table showing every channel, its status (Pending, Sent, Failed or Skipped) and how many attempts it took. Skips say why, in plain words: Channel not verified, In cooldown window, Rate-limited, Daily email cap reached.

Identical alerts within five minutes are grouped into one row with a count rather than flooding the list, and are kept for 90 days.

Notification Settings (per project)

The sidebar's Notification Settings is where a project's alerts are routed: a grid of three categories — Budget, Enforcement, Loops — against your verified channels. Tick a cell and it saves. Any member can change it.

Channels picked directly on a firewall rule always deliver for that rule, whatever the matrix says.

For adding and verifying channels themselves, see Budget & loop notifications — that page covers all five channel types, webhook signing and the throttles.

Email preferences

General Settings links to Email Notifications, your personal page: "Control the emails TokenPolice sends you personally." Security emails — API-key changes and account events — can't be turned off, because they protect your account.

Every alert email also carries a one-click unsubscribe leading to a public Email preferences page, scoped to that address in that workspace. It never affects Slack, Discord, Telegram or webhooks, and never affects the in-app inbox.

What to look for

  • Alerts in the inbox but nothing in Slack — the channel is unverified, or the category isn't ticked for it in the matrix. The Deliveries table names the reason.
  • A row with a large occurrence count — one rule is firing constantly. Raise its limit or its cooldown.
  • Nothing at all, ever — you may have no Notify rule and no crossings; check the Audit log.
